Spot the scam
Twenty messages, calls and ads. Some are scams, some are the real thing. Can you tell which?
Start the quiz 20 rounds · about 6 minutes · no sign-up
Each round shows a message, call or ad like the ones Australians get every day. Some are scams and some are genuine. Decide which, then see the giveaways and what to do.
The businesses are made up, and the links and phone numbers go nowhere. myGov is real, because scammers love pretending to be it.
Your answers are checked on our server. Each game, and any beef you send about a round, is kept for 90 days with no name, email or IP address, so shared scores can be checked and wrong rounds fixed.
Turn on JavaScript to play. Each round comes from our server, and so do the answers.
