# Image credits — Saltbush & Lime (SEVNworks concept)

Saltbush & Lime is a fictional restaurant, so there are no real rooms or dishes to photograph. The site uses two kinds of image, and labels each on the page.

1. **Representative food photos (Unsplash).** Every dish photo, the home hero massaman and the last fly-through frame are real photographs from [Unsplash](https://unsplash.com), used under the [Unsplash License](https://unsplash.com/license). They show each dish as cooked by someone else, **not food from this fictional kitchen**. On the page each one carries a small “Representative photo · *Photographer* / Unsplash” credit linking to the photographer’s Unsplash profile.
2. **AI-generated concept visualisations (OpenAI gpt-image-2).** The venue images, fly-through frames 1–5 and the home “anatomy” green-curry cut-outs were generated for this concept. They do not depict real people, premises or completed work, and are labelled “Concept visualisation · AI-generated” (the cut-outs: “Illustrative · AI-generated concept image”).

All illustrations (lime, lemongrass, chilli, saltbush, mango, makrut leaf, lemon myrtle, finger lime, Davidson plum, map and floor plan) are original SVG drawn in code for this site.

## Unsplash photos

Each photo was found by searching Unsplash with the free-licence filter (`?license=free`, which excludes paid Unsplash+ images), viewed in full before use, and checked on its photo page for “Free to use under the Unsplash License” on 3 October 2026. Photos are self-hosted: downloaded at 1600–2400 px wide, cropped to 3:2 (2:3 for the hero) and encoded as WebP by `_shared/generators/sevn-table/images.py` from the originals in `_shared/generators/sevn-table/raw/unsplash/`.

### Dishes without a photo

No honest match was found after several searches, so these cards are shown without a photo rather than with a different dish:

- **SL-01 Betel leaf miang**: searches for “miang kham”, “miang”, “betel leaf”, “betel leaf wrap”, “leaf wrap”, “thai appetizer”, “thai canapes” and “leaf cups” returned betel plants, Indian paan and other leaf-wrapped dishes, but no miang.
- **SL-06 Prawn & pomelo salad**: “pomelo salad”, “pomelo prawn”, “prawn salad” and “thai prawn salad” returned shrimp salads without pomelo and plain citrus shots. The closest (a Thai shrimp and bean-sprout salad) has no pomelo, so it was not used.

## AI-generated concept visualisations (OpenAI gpt-image-2)

Each was inspected by eye before use for garbled text, warped hands or faces, logos and non-Australian details (see `IMAGE_AUDIT.md`). People are anonymous fictional staff and diners. Prompts are logged in `../_shared/image-log.jsonl`.

The cut-outs use a soft luminance matte against the dark backdrop they were generated on. Real photos can’t be separated into layers that way, which is why the anatomy sequence stays illustrative.

**Retired generations.** The earlier AI-generated dish images (four 2 × 2 dish sheets, the generated massaman hero and the generated overhead spread) are kept in `_shared/generators/sevn-table/raw/` for the record but are no longer published. The folder name `assets/img/gen/` was kept so existing references keep working; it now holds both the generated venue images and the Unsplash dish photos.

**Fonts.** Anuphan, Chonburi (Cadson Demak) and Kanit ExtraBold Italic, SIL Open Font License 1.1, self-hosted latin and Thai subsets from Google Fonts in `assets/fonts/` (licence in `assets/fonts/OFL.txt`).
